Dog training secret - Dog Training Supplies - Dog Collars

When it comes to dog training supplies, there is a never ending list of items. The most common dog training item is the dog collar. Here we will discuss the many types of dog collars and which may be best for your dog.

Regular dog collars come in a variety of sizes, colors and looks. From plain black to fancy designs, you can purchase a collar that sets the mood your looking for.

Collars are considered dog training supplies when a collar is used as a tool to train your dog. A simple chain collar that can be tightened is easily used by all house members when training a dog. A quick snap or pull on the collar will get your dog to stop misbehaving.

Dog training collars can be a life saver for some. These shock collars can provide you with the tool necessary to train your dog. When your dog misbehaves you simple touch a button on the collar which gives out a sensation that the dog finds unpleasant. The dog will soon associate the unpleasant feeling with the misbehavior. These dog training supplies are available online and at local dog supply shops. Purchase one that can be set to a low shock wave, just enough to make it uncomfortable for your dog and not hurt him.

Another type of dog training collar is an electronic collar that gives off an unpleasant sound wave. This has the same effect as the shock collar but without physically shocking the dog. These come in all sizes, whether your dog is small or large, there is a collar that will suit your dogs needs.

Dog training supplies also include no-bark collars. These are set to give a small shock whenever the dog barks. Teaching your dog with dog training collars can make your dog training efforts much easier and more efficient.

The secret with Your Dog Training Problems

Whether you are new to dog training or a veteran of many dogs the reality is that you are going to run into problems when training your dog. It is important that you understand how to troubleshoot problems when training your dog.

There is a three part troubleshooting program that I use when working with my clients in my Salt Lake City dog training business. Whenever my clients are not achieving perfect results it is always caused by one of three things:

1- Tools: Are you using the right training tools with your dog. Do you have the right dog training collar, the right leashes, etc.? Is your dog wearing the training equipment so that you are in a position to communicate with your dog when needed?

2- Techniques: Are the techniques you are using effective? If a technique is effective you should be able to see some results to that effect rather quickly. It takes time to train a dog but you should be able to determine within minutes if a technique is working with your dog. If your techniques are faulty you won't have any success in training your dog.

3- Consistency: Consistency is the killer of home dog trainers. Changing the behavior of an animal is not easy. It requires that you use the right tools and the correct techniques with enough consistency that you bring about a behavioral change.

If your dog is not doing what you think he should be doing examine what it is that you are doing wrong and you will be able to correct the issues.

Training Your Dog to Fetch in Simple Steps secret

If you find it cute that a dog fetches your sleeper and newspaper in the morning, then you might consider training your dog to fetch.

Teaching your dog to fetch is a great way to burn off some of the energy that your dog might have. It is a simple game, and probably the most well known of all dog games, but does require a bit of training for the dog to get right. If used properly then you can extend the length of the walk by getting your dog to run all over the place. However if your dog isn't trained to fetch you will find yourself spending more time looking for the ball then giving the dog exercise.

When training your dog you will be using treats, so don't try training after meals when the dog isn't hungry. Also never train a tired dog as it is likely to end in frustration when the dog can't seem to take anything in. The most important tool in dog training is patience, so don't get angry if your dog doesn't get the game right away.

Start off by training in a controlled environment such as your living room, and throw a ball or toy a small distance away. When your dog picks it up, praise him until he comes back to you. You want the dog to come right to you and allow you to take the ball back.

Another command that could be introduced is the "give" command. When you take the ball from the dog say "give" so that the dog begins to know it has to give whatever it is holding to you on this command.

Best Secret of House Training Dog

Every now and then you will see some dogs on TV or in a dog show being very obedient to their handlers and trainers. Makes you wonder what is the big secret in having the dog that much trained.

Is there a secret to house training dog? Training your dog is not only advantageous to you and to the other people and pets your dog will be around, it is also very good for your dog's health and state of mind. Obedience training is a way of helping your dog learns to cope better with his/her surroundings. Training is the foundation for problem solving and opens up a line of communication between you and your dog. It should be fun and rewarding and can make living together more enjoyable.

Crate training is often preferred to paper training. It is cleaner, can be used as a travel kennel, and may satisfy your dog's "need for a den-like enclosure," according to Kovary. Crate training works because it removes your puppy's opportunity to sneak off and relieve him when you're not looking - this is because he'll be under your constant supervision whenever he's not in his crate. And when he's in his crate, he won't go to the toilet, because he sleeps there.

Praise the dog for pooping outside and peeing outside every single time. This makes the time fun for the dog. Praise your pup for eliminating on the newspaper and use the key word or phrase. Change the paper and remove some of the paper from the other side of the room. Praise your puppy or dog lavishly every time he eliminates outdoors--you can even give him a treat--but remember to do so immediately after he's finished eliminating, not after he comes back inside the house. This step is vital, because rewarding your dog for eliminating outdoors is the only way he'll know what's expected of him.

welcome to dog training secrets

Fundamentally, dog training is about communication. From the human perspective, the handler is communicating to the dog what behaviors are correct, desired, or preferred in what circumstances and what behaviours are undesirable. From the canine perspective the handler must learn what motivates the dog if optimal results are desired.

A handler must understand communication from the dog. The dog can signal that he is unsure, confused, nervous, happy, excited, and so on. The emotional state of the dog is an important consideration in directing the training, as a dog that is stressed or distracted will not learn efficiently.

According to Learning Theory there are four important messages that the handler can send the dog:

Reward or release marker
Correct behavior. You have earned a reward.
Keep going signal
Correct behavior. Continue and you will earn a reward.
No reward marker
Incorrect behavior. Try something else.
Punishment marker
Incorrect behavior. You have earned punishment.

Using consistent signals or words for these messages enables the dog to understand them more quickly.
